Do I need to pay fees for deposit and withdrawal?

1. No network fees for deposits

You don’t need to pay any fees when depositing crypto into your OKX account. The withdrawal fee is always paid by the withdrawing party, not the receiving party.

For example, if an individual (can be you or someone else) deposits crypto into your OKX account, you don’t need to pay the fee. Vice versa, when you withdraw crypto from your OKX account, you’ll be charged the withdrawal fee.

Note: if your deposit amount is less than the minimum limit stated on the deposit page, your assets won’t be credited to your account. Currently, we only support the recovery of below-minimum deposits for certain crypto. If you need assistance recovering such funds, please contact customer support. Please note that additional recovery fees will apply.

2. Network fees for withdrawals

The actual withdrawal fee you pay may differ slightly from real-time onchain fees or fees on other platforms. This is mainly due to the following:

  • Operational costs: To ensure stable and reliable service, the fee includes a small portion to cover essential platform maintenance and operations.

  • Transaction assurance: We dynamically adjust fees to manage network congestion and price fluctuations, ensuring your transactions are processed smoothly.

  • Update timing: Fees are updated based on network conditions, so the amount shown may differ slightly from the real-time onchain gas cost at any given moment.

Please refer to the withdrawal page for the specific currency and amount.

3. How are withdrawal fees calculated and deducted?

The network fee is charged once per withdrawal transaction, regardless of the withdrawal amount. The fee amount is based on the transaction (a more complex transaction means that more computational resources will be consumed), hence a higher fee will be charged.

The withdrawal fee deduction logic may vary slightly depending on your app version:

3.1 Latest App version (e.g., Android 6.151 / iOS equivalent and above)

  • If your account balance is sufficient, the fee will be deducted from your balance.

  • If your balance is insufficient but partially available, the available balance will be deducted first, and the remaining fee will be deducted from the withdrawal amount.

  • If you select Withdraw all, the fee will be deducted from the withdrawal amount.

3.2 Older App versions (e.g., 6.150 and earlier)

The fee will be deducted directly from the withdrawal amount: Amount received = Withdrawal amount – Withdrawal fee

3.3 Web version

The web version follows the same deduction logic as the latest app version:

  • If your account balance is sufficient, the fee will be deducted from your balance.

  • If your balance is insufficient but partially available, the available balance will be deducted first, and the remaining fee will be deducted from the withdrawal amount.

  • If you select Withdraw all, the fee will be deducted from the withdrawal amount.

Note:

  • Update to the latest OKX App for an improved withdrawal experience. In the new version, fees are deducted from your overall balance rather than your withdrawal amount. If you remain on an older version, fees will still be taken from your withdrawal total.

  • Always back up your Web3 wallet's private keys and seed phrases before uninstalling or updating the app to keep your assets safe.
